Oura Ring Review

Let’s start with a bit of a background story. About 4 months ago I was in my annual wellness exam and my doctor wanted to check my hormones and labs. I had a few things going on and we decided to check everything out. The kicker was I had to get off birth control for a month so the results weren’t skewed. I was fine with that and thankfully my labs all came back normal. That month I decided that I didn’t want to stay on birth control. I didn’t want to try and have a baby. I just wanted to give my body a reset and be more mindful of what I was consuming. Enter in my Oura ring. After a little over a month of wearing it, I wanted to give y’all my official Oura ring review.

Fit and Comfort

When you first start looking at rings, you can order a sizing kit. They recommend you wear it for 24-48 hours to get the best fit. Even sleep in it. They also want you to wear it on your non-dominant hand and on your first three fingers, because they have bigger blood vessels. I thought that I would hate the big bulky ring on my left pointer finger. To be honest, I haven’t minded at all. I usually mess with it throughout the day some, but mostly I don’t notice it any more than I would any other rings I have my hands.

Data Capabilities

The data capabilities is what I am most impressed about with the Oura ring. Not only does it track your cycle and is honestly spot on down to 0-1 days, but it also tracks your steps, sleep, readiness, cardio health, heart rate, stress and so much more. The longer you wear it, the more data it has to make recommendations about your routine.

It knows when it’s about bed time for me. The funny part is whenever it tells me, I am usually already in bed reading. It will encourage me to get up and stretch my legs if I am being inactive for long periods of time. It will remind me to take a breath if stress levels are high. Just this week, it made recommendations about my daily routine of how I can be more productive based on my circadian rhythm and when my body is at its highest readiness. Not gonna lie, that is pretty cool! The higher the numbers are the better. It always gives you feedback no matter where you are at and its super helpful!

*Pics below are from this morning and last nights data. I didn’t sleep well so there is that.

Would I Recommend to Others?

YES!! Absolutely I would recommend it. I know several other people who have it and love it too. I love how much it tracks and I love that it can help give me some insight on what is going on. My family isn’t the healthiest and has a lot of hypertension, diabetes, and cancer. I hope to do my part in preventing as much as I can.
