There is no secret that I love to shop. I am always on the hunt for pieces to elevate my wardrobe and that can work for multiple occasions. It took me awhile to figure out my own personal style and be confident with it. My mom is a business woman and I grew wearing power suits to work everyday. Safe to say, my style is a little on the dressier side of things. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. More than likely though, I will be wearing an outfit that I can dress up a little bit with some nice jewelry and fabulous shoes. Since we are changing seasons, I thought it would be fun to share my tips for a capsule wardrobe to go from spring to summer.
1. Jeans
White, black, and skinny (sorry Gen Z) are all needed to transition from season too season. They are also, super easy to dress up for a night out with your special someone or a GNO. Pair with some statement jewelry, flowy top and some fabulous shoes, maybe a jacket or blazer, and you are on your way
2. Tops
Since the weather is warming up, it’s time to nix the layers and sweaters and pull out the flowy, lightweight tops. I love white tops and tees, but incorporating colors and prints is always fun too. Always nice to have a few t-shirts to throw on for easy errand outfits or running your kiddos around to all there sporting events. I love to tuck the front of a t-shirt into a belt to polish up an easy look.
3. Jackets and Blazers
I think I own at least 10 blazers. They are by far my favorite item to add to an outfit. Definitely a closet staple! Can be dressed up or down, be more structured or loose fit. Either way, you need a blazer or two or three. Especially a white one and a black one. Plus, who doesn’t feel like an ultimate boss babe when they wear a blazer.
Jackets are fun to add with a graphic tee or printed top with some jeans, shorts or even a jean skirt. They are fun and can add some personality to a look.
4. Shoes
Ditch the boots and pull out the sandals, wedges and heels. I personally love spring & summer fashion way more then winter purely because of the shoes. Yes, I have a shoe problem, but I don’t care. Shoes are the easiest way to elevate an outfit. Also, wearing shoes with a bit of a heel instantly gives you a little extra sass in your step, which we all need.
