I can’t believe my baby is 5 years old. He goes through phases of obsessions, but the love of Top Gun has definitely stuck. It was an easy choice for me to do this party theme since I also love Top Gun. If you know me, you also know that I love a good theme and a reason to throw a party. I don’t do anything halfway and am extra when it comes to this kind of thing. Here is all the details on Beckham’s Top Gun Birthday.

Invitation

I was going to make these by hand, but thank goodness for Canva. It has truly become my best friend. Through several tutorials on Youtube, I created these e-invitations complete with music. I won’t even admit how long it took me, but I am so excited of how they turned out.

Decor

I made the welcome poster, food sign, and fueling station sign on Canva and printed them at Staples. I found some inspiration on Pinterest and made it my own.

I ordered a pack of these aviator sunglasses off Amazon and had them set up for guests to wear and keep. You can’t have a Top Gun party without the key accessory.

Finally, I worked with my girl at Pop and Tie to create this incredible balloon display. This will probably be my last one for Beckham so I wanted to make it extra special. I actually ended up using these balloons 3 weeks later for a work event and they were still perfect!

Food

We kept the food simple and just did a big bbq. I had this grand plan to make an aircraft carrier as a display of food, but that didn’t happen. I did order fun plates from Amazon to add a little of the theme in. I worked with a local cake designer for his cake and I was absolutely blown away! If you are in Eastern Idaho, I highly recommend Cakes ‘n Bakes by Lanae Rae. Her cakes are truly incredible!! I sent her a few inspiration pictures and she pulled this masterpiece together. She put his name on it and his initials on the dog tags.

For some extra fun, I ordered Beckham and I these shirts from Amazon. Super soft and great quality for a t-shirt. Beckham has wore his several times. It was an incredible day and I am beyond grateful for everyone who came to celebrate Beckham. He was on cloud nine the whole time.
