February, as we all know, is the month of love. However, I find it interesting that we constantly forget to show ourselves love. For years I was told that self care was selfish. That couldn’t have been more wrong. If we don’t take care of ourselves, we have nothing to give to those around us. This is especially true in motherhood. I have flipped my perspective and am teaching my son the importance of not only taking care of ourselves mind, body, and soul, but stepping away when we need a minute to ourselves and verbally expressing emotions. I am curious when was the last time you did something truly for yourself? Maybe today can be that day! In honor of Valentine’s Day, I am sharing the recipe for my Strawberry Valentine’s Smoothie. Strawberry Valentine’s Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1/4 frozen strawberries
- 1/2 frozen banana
- 1 Tbsp coconut shavings
- 1 cup Almond milk
- opt. Ritual vanilla protein
Directions
- Combine all ingredients
- Blend and serve
