I am big on setting goals & intentions. I believe they help you stay driven and inspired. They also give you some direction when your feeling off. Here are my 2023 Goals & Intentions:
1. Say no more often
This last year, I learned a valuable lesson of what happens when you take on too much. I was saying yes to everything with the mindset of I will figure it out and it’s fine if I am overwhelmingly busy all the time. I will relax later. After the past 5 1/2 years of saying no and making excuses for someone else, I felt like I had to make up lost time. That whole concept was/is crazy!! I ended up being stressed to the max and feeling like I was failing in every area of my life. So 2023, I am saying no to things that don’t bring me joy or if I have too much on my plate at the moment, I will recognize it’s not a good time.
2. No socials Sunday
I spend a lot of time on my phone, sadly. Near the end of 2022 I unintentionally stopped posting and sharing on the weekends. I am continuing this practice into 2023. The weekends are the few days with Kohl and Beckham where we can relax and do fun things. That time shouldn’t be spent behind a screen.
3. Self-confidence and positive self-talk
I don’t feel confident in my body right now and am really harsh on how I talk to myself. It’s pretty hard to be in a happy and positive state of mind if all your thoughts and words are negative.
4. Balanced wellness
Getting back into cleaner eating habits and moving my body multiple times a week. Also, not beating myself up over having a piece of chocolate or cake on a birthday or if I didn’t work out that day. I want balance not perfection.
5. Graduate masters with 4.0
When I started my masters program, I set out this goal to graduate with a 4.0. It’s silly but something I have never done. So far I am on track to do so with 2 classes and a capstone project left to do.
6. Get the big girl job
Up until now I have small stepping stone jobs that have helped build up my resume to have the unique healthcare experience I have now. With the completion of my masters in health administration, I am ready to have the job with more responsibility and a higher paycheck. Hopefully this will be accomplished in the first 6 months of 2023.
7. Read 20 new books
I love reading. It is that time out from reality for me. I will share more on my Instagram of the books that I am reading throughout the year. I will also do a round up of what is on my list for 2023.
8. Travel somewhere new
I love to travel and thankfully Beckham is getting to the age where he is quite adventurous. I want to go to fun new places within the US and create amazing memories together. Let me know if you have any recommendations.
9. Do something I’ve never done
This will always be on my goals and intentions list. Trying something new is always a good idea.
10. Beach vacation with Kohl & Beckham
We all love the beach so hopefully we can make this happen this year.
11. Family vacation with everyone
Instead of Christmas presents this year, my family decided to put that money towards a family vacation. McCall in July is happening and I am so excited!
12. A place to call home
This is a big one! I have never had a place to call mine. I had a dorm in college, then lived in an apartment while I was married but it never seemed like mine, and now I have been living with my mom because prices have been ridiculous. Thankfully prices are coming down so we will see what happens.
13. Grow blog and social following/ connection
I started this blog has a creative outlet and it was something I always wanted to do. 2022 kind of got away from me and my blog got pushed to the back burner. This year I hope to inspire more people and make more connections through all of my social platforms.
14. Build BeautyCounter business
A little over a year ago I took the leap and became a BeautyCounter consultant. You can read all about it here. I want to spend more time committed to this journey and business.
15. Educated people of clean beauty
I never knew how important clean beauty was until I started learning about the ingredients that are put into our skincare products in the US. It’s actually terrifying! Clean beauty education coming at you and if I can help you with a new regimen or change out some products in your home, that is great too!
What are some of your 2023 goals and intentions?
